Dental Implant Treatments

Dental Implants - Mark Tangri Dental Excellence

Single Tooth Replacement

Dental implants are highly recommended for the replacement of a single missing tooth, whether it’s in the front or back of the mouth. In this process, a crown supported by an implant is inserted into the gap. This method eliminates the need for a single-tooth denture or the alteration of adjacent teeth to support a bridge, both of which can be uncomfortable and challenging to maintain.

Dental Implants - Mark Tangri Dental Excellence

Single Tooth Replacement

  • Anywhere in the mouth if a single missing/loose tooth is present, dental implants are recommended.
  • A crown supported by an implant is inserted into the gap as part of the process.
  • Eliminates the necessity for a single-tooth denture.
  • Prevents modifying nearby teeth in order to support a bridge.
  • Provides a cosy, low-maintenance substitute.

Multiple Teeth Replacement

If you’re missing multiple teeth, it’s crucial to replace them promptly to prevent further oral damage. A cost-effective solution is using two or more implants to bridge the gap, rather than individual implants for each tooth. Crowns or bridges are then attached to these implants. This restoration provides strength and stability, enabling you to eat comfortably, but it also helps in preserving your jawbone and facial structure.

Multiple Teeth Replacement

  • Restores strength and stability for comfortable eating.
  • Assists in maintaining jawbone and facial structure.
  • Cost-effective method: using two or more implants to bridge gaps.
  • We can then attach crowns or bridges to these implants.
  • Essential in replacing multiple missing teeth quickly to prevent more oral damage.

Implant Supported Fixed Bridges

Fixed bridges supported by implants are an excellent choice for replacing a full row of teeth in either the upper or lower jaw. Unlike removable dentures, these fixed bridges are not self-removable; only a dentist can take them out for maintenance. This option is often recommended for those who prefer not to wear full removable dentures, particularly if they find them uncomfortable or hard to maintain. Typically, 6 to 8 implants are installed in the jaw, and bridges are then securely attached to these implants, functioning similarly to natural teeth.

Dental Implants - Mark Tangri Dental Excellence

Implant Supported Bridges

  • Suitable for replacing a full row of teeth in the upper or lower jaw.
  • Fixed bridges are secured in place by implants and cannot be taken out on their own.
  • Six to eight implants are typically placed in the jaw to support a fixed bridge.
  • With a similar function to natural teeth, it is advised for those who find full removable dentures uncomfortable or challenging to maintain.

Implant Supported Dentures

Loose dentures can lead to social embarrassment and discomfort while chewing, a problem that often worsens with age. This is mainly due to jaw bone atrophy, where the bone supporting the denture shrinks and flattens, and the oral mucosa, the skin under the dentures, becomes thinner and more sensitive. Implant-supported dentures offer a solution, as they can be easily snapped onto implants by the wearer. More implants result in better stability. These dentures provide strong, secure support, enhancing chewing efficiency and reducing pain from denture pressure. They can be removed for cleaning and are a simpler, more affordable alternative to a full set of fixed dental bridges.

  • A solution to loose dentures, which worsen with age and cause social embarrassment and discomfort when chewing.

Client Reviews

Changing Lives With Dental Implants

Being someone who is absolutely petrified of going to the dentists has resulted me in having gum decease. I came across Mark Tangri on social media and straight away he caught my attention as he hit home with all the things I wanted to hear giving me comfort and confidence. I then booked a consultation and from the time I walked in to the time I left I have never felt so comfortable and supported from a dentist. I have since had treatment and have never looked back. I highly recommend this practise 100 times over.

Nina Mathari

I’ve been a patient of Marks for 15 years now. I am an exceptionally phobic patient – and am quite difficult to manage when triggered – and Mark has gone above and beyond to develop my trust so that I can receive treatment. He puts my needs first and for a long time has focused on me maintaining my oral health with minimal treatment by condensing it into one appointment to manage my fear and stress. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Ever. And have referred friends to Mark. The team he has at his surgery are friendly and understanding and very helpful too. I can’t recommend enough.

Claire Till

I had a good experience. I am 14 and having braces with another practice and had to have teeth removed. Some of my teeth were extra teeth and buried under my gums deep in the bone. I had sedation to remove these teeth. I felt comfortable and safe. I recommend this place and so does my mom and family.

Eiman Salamati

Have been a patient for many years. I followed Dr Mark to his new practice and will continue to be his patient as long as he continues dentistry. He is gentle when working, meticulous which results in fantastic results that are long lasting. His staff are brilliant, truly dental excellence. I can’t praise them enough.

Lainagh Reid

I’m exceptionally nervous of dentists, and have put off making an appointment for ‘many’ years – however I really needed to get my teeth looked at. After reading reviews of the many dentists in the area, I picked Mark Tangri, as it seemed to be well regarded by previous patients. I made the right choice! The staff are welcoming, and really put me at ease – the waiting time for appointments is minimal. Treatment options were fully discussed and explained, and the treatment itself was undertaken with the care and professionalism that I hoped for. If it wasn’t for my phobia, I’d even say I’m’ looking forward’ to going back..!

Sean Rhodes

Amazing! With the very short time I had the team were able to fit me in and get the job done. I would like to say a massive thank you to them team and uzair for amazing job they have done. Would highly recommend! I have my dream smile ????

Shezzy Kay

First time at Mark Tangri Dental Excellence and an impressive experience, excellent and facilities, with friendly and welcoming staff on hand to ease any worries. Initially, I was nervous with my diagnosis ( gum disease), but the outstanding dental service and advice from Mark Tangri with regards to my treatment gave me confidence that I am in good hands. I am optimistic for a good outcome following further visits. I even decided on my first visit to pay monthly for a cost-effective Denplan payment plan to enjoy a happy and healthy smile!

S M (Siamese)

I am currently going through my Invisalign journey with Mark and the team. From the moment I walked in to the practice I was treated like family. He talked me through all my options, if I didn’t understand something he would repeat everything again. We spent hours talking to make sure I knew and understood everything. I am on my 4th week and it’s going great. I’m so looking forward to my end results.

Nervous Of The Dentist?

Pain-Free Treatment, With Specialist Sedation Dentistry

We have a team of Sedation Dentistry Specialists. Sedation Dentistry helps patients relax during procedures. It’s often referred to as ‘Sleep Dentistry’, although that’s not entirely accurate. Patients are usually awake with the exception of those under General Anaesthesia.

Sedation is useful for calming nerves, managing sensitivity or gag reflexes during procedures. It is particularly beneficial for major dental treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions

If a person has good health and is able to undergo surgery for routine bridgework or routine tooth extractions, the same person can receive dental implants. If the patient is taking any form of medication, they should alert us in the medical questionnaire that we use. There are very few medical conditions that would prevent you having an implant.

No, implant placement is a very gentle procedure, normally carried out under local anaesthetic, and in some cases a mild sedative.

Approximately 20 minutes for each implant placed.

There may be some slight discomfort and perhaps swelling for a short period, which can be relieved with painkillers. Most of our patients report little or no discomfort.

The most natural way to replace missing teeth.

  • It’s your third set of teeth.
  • No dentures to remove at night.
  • Removes the need to damage adjacent teeth as in bridge preparation.
  • Freedom to choose from a restaurant menu.
  • Implants can look or feel like natural teeth.
  • Improves chewing ability.
  • Greater confidence to socialise.
  • Implants prevent bone loss and maintain facial structure.
  • Implants are more permanent that conventional crowns and bridges.

For patients who have no remaining teeth, the alternatives are:

  • Removal of upper and lower dentures.
  • Implants which secure their dentures in place.
  • Implants which support crowns or bridges.
  • No teeth at all.

For patients who have some of their own teeth, the alternatives are:

  • Crowns and bridges supported by implants and/or teeth.
  • Partial dentures secured by implants and/or teeth.
  • Bridges supported by teeth.

In the case of an implant not integrating with the bone, the implant will have slight movement which we will be able to detect.

In most cases the implant would be replaced. We would advise you on the clinical factors involved.

We would only ask you to contribute to the cost if you have manifestly ignored our instructions for caring for the implant or have not allowed us to provide remedial treatment. We offer a maintenance programme covering check-ups, routine care and cover for implants starting from £8.49 per month.

Three to nine months as a general guideline. We will provide a full treatment plan which will include a more accurate timeline.

Normally after 24 hours. We will advise you dependant on your case and situation as everyone is individual.

Like natural teeth and gums, implants need a good oral hygiene programme and regular checks by your dentist. We will provide full written instructions on how to care for the final restoration.
